WHAT IS THRV WKND?

THRV WKND is a youth conference hosted by the Peachtree City Church of Christ for Middle and High School students both in Georgia and across the surrounding states. Starting on Friday Night and wrapping up late on Sunday Night, Christian students share a wide variety of spiritual growth experiences, they share meals together, and they spend quality time together, all with the goal of thriving and experiencing the fullness of a relationship with Jesus Christ together.

Our weekend schedule includes things like Main Sessions, Student Groups, Breakout Classes, and Worship Sessions. Main Sessions include things like a traditional keynote speaker, THRV TLKS mini-speakers, audience activities. Student Groups are discussion times led by students. Breakout Classes are smaller sessions structured to workshop different topics related to the current year’s focus.

THRV TLKS ::

IN OUR Main sessions

Our Main Sessions included different elements like THRV TLK speakers, STUDENT VOICE interview videos, audience games, and our keynote speaker. All of these different kinds of content revolved around the main focus: having relationships with difficult people.

Keynote :: Bo Pugh

Bo Pugh from Katy, TX spoke at each of our Main Sessions. The overall topic was seeing others with the eyes of Jesus. All of our relationships are opportunities for us to bear good fruit. When Jesus asked us to love our enemies, He meant it.

THRV TLKS ::

Devin morris

Donovan Rillion

JOSH POSEY

BLAINE CHASON

SAM WELSH

THRV TLKS speakers are not as long as a traditional keynote message. This shorter form of sermon content allows a new way for students to be engaged by different kinds of voices throughout our weekend, and is a great complement to the bigger focus of THRV.

THE KEYNOTES

One speaker, tying the weekend together with the focus: having relationships with difficult people.

some of the most difficult people in our lives are just genuinely so lost right now. And they’re waiting for someone to love them with the love of Jesus.

REMIND YOURSELF IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS:

THE THRV TLKS

A variety of speakers, complimenting the focus by emphasizing Scripture through real life experiences.

IN OUR BREAKOUTS

Connecting the dots, as a workshop for different practical areas that Christians will encounter.

“WHAT IF THE DIFFICULT RELATIONSHIP IS…”

SOMEONE DIFFERENT? with Sam Welsh.

It’s easy to avoid people who don’t think, look, or live like you, but what if Jesus calls us to something better? This session talked about how to build real relationships across differences without compromising your faith. Where should we draw the line between compromising and bridge building?

IN MY FAMILY? with BLAINE CHASON.

Family relationships can be some of the hardest to navigate when there’s tension or hurt. How do you honor God and show love when the people closest to you feel the most difficult? What our typical response when family conflict comes up? Where might God be asking you to practice forgiveness or patience at home?

SOMEONE IN AUTHORITY? with JOSH POSEY.

What do you do when a teacher, coach, or boss seems unfair or hard to respect? This breakout explored how to respond with humility and courage when authority feels like an obstacle. What makes it hard to trust someone in authority? How does Jesus’s example instruct us in this regard?

SOMEONE ONLINE? with DEVIN MORRIS.

Conflict doesn’t just happen face-to-face anymore; it happens in comments, DMs, and group chats. How can you be a light in digital spaces that often feel dark and divisive? What is one change you could make in your digital habits to be more like Jesus?

IN MY CHURCH? with DONOVAN RILLION.

Church is supposed to feel safe, but what happens when someone in your faith community hurts you or lets you down? This session will helped students wrestle with forgiveness, unity, and what loving your “church family” really looks like. Why might hurts in church feel harder than in other places? What’s one thing you can do to contribute towards building up your church family?
